Internet Explorer Vs FireFox

For me personally, FireFox wins hands down!

I had always used Internet Explorer, people used to tell me to switch to FireFox because it was better and I always refused! That was until about a year and a half ago when my Explorer kept giving me errors and then decided not to work at all! So I had to use FireFox, and I have to say…why did I not use FireFox from the start?!?!

I now know why everyone was telling me to change, and I would never go back to explorer!

Why is it better?

• Session restore - Has your pc ever crashed when your in the middle of looking through a website? Then cant find the website you were on? FireFox has a restore option, if you shut down your PC or if it crashes, FireFox will ask if want to restore your session. Click restore and all your web pages pop back up and you can carry on where you left off. Handy eh?

• Add Ons - FireFox has a strong developer community. There are thousands of add ons for FireFox. You can install them to make your pages load faster, install radio buttons, Rss feed readers, change the theme of your web page, add cool effects to your tabs, install webmaster tools….I could go on and on, but I’m not going to :p just have a look yourself at whats available!

• Speed - FireFox is a lot faster at loading pages than Internet Explorer

• Spell Checker - Yes, I know, Explorer has a spell checker…but does it spell check as your typing? No! You know when your word processing a document? And it will put a red line under a word if you’ve spelt it wrong? Well FireFox does that for you when your on the internet! Writing a comment in a blog? Or on someones wall on Facebook? It will spell check what your writing in real time!

• Security - FireFox has a stronger reputation for security and updates are quickly and easily installed (and don’t require a restart like IE)

All in all a better browser all together. Now your thinking…Why do so many people use Internet explorer if FireFox is so much better? That’s quite easy to answer! When you first installed windows, which browser is installed with it? or when you go out and buy a new pc, which browser is already installed? Yes, Internet Explorer! People use it because its there!
